I grew up in Collingwood Ontario, where I attended art school alongside high school. During my time at the Bay School of Art I was able to participate in several group and juried shows. My main passion is oil painting, with a particular interest in portraiture. I want to capture peoples likeness, the essence of their personality. I have always been fascinated with the Italian Renaissance, and that period was my main influence to pursue art. The works of Michelangelo and Caravaggio have always been particularly inspiring to me. As I got older, and started attending Queen’s, I had the opportunity to see a lot of their works in person. During my second year at Queen’s I attended the Venice summer school. Then, in the summer of 2016 I went to Altamura, Italy on a three week art restoration workshop. This workshop enhanced my desire to pursue a career in art conservation and restoration. In the Fall I will be attending grad school for art conservation.
